For those of you that do not know Kathy, here is some information that will help you to appreciate how fortunate we are to have such a talented person involved with our group!

Kathy Bommarito

Kathy Bommarito started her GM career in 1973 as a stenographer in Chevrolet Motor Division’s Information Systems department in Detroit. She transferred to the warehousing and distribution area of ACDelco in 1974 where she held various assignments including product line specialist and forecast specialist. In 1981, she moved to ACDelco’s Sales Promotion department as a marketing analyst, and later advanced to associate administrator.

Bommarito moved into the public relations/communications field when she transferred to GM Service Parts Operations (SPO) Public Relations department in 1991 when she was named manager of media relations. In this position, she was responsible for divisional product and program publicity – news conferences, press kits, responding to media inquiries and relationship building with key trade journalists.

In 1997, Bommarito was named manager of communications and moved to SPO’s Flint, Mich., Central Office and later to SPO’s World Headquarters in Grand Blanc, Mich. Her responsibilities included divisional communications, being the executive editor of employee newsletters, coordination of divisional satellite broadcast programs and community relations. Special assignments included coordinating the dedication, charity benefit and employee open house for the opening of SPO’s World Headquarters in 1997 and working on the planning team for the 1998 and 2000 SPO Leadership Conferences.

Bommarito transferred to GM Powertrain in Pontiac, Mich., in 2000 as manager of communications, with responsibility for manufacturing and facilities communications for the component sector and later added the engine sector to her responsibilities. Special projects included participating on the planning team coordinating quarterly executive conferences and involvement in the design and content of the division’s employee Web site.

In August 2003, Bommarito retired after 30 years at GM to spend more time with her family, participate in volunteer activities, work on her golf game and just enjoy life.

In retirement, she continues to be an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is accredited in public relations through PRSA.

Comments from folks who have been interviewed by Kathy Bommarito:

Jack,

Thank you for the interview with Victor Baggett and the one with me.  It was a real pleasure working with Kathy Bommarito on the same.  The Overthehillcarpeople web site has given me and others opportunities to express our opinions and keep on top of automotive events and news regarding General Motors.  Thank you and your associates for accomplishing and maintaining this site.

Best regards,

Dennis Kunick

Kathy,

Thank you so much for sending the write-up on Victor Baggett and the
photos.  Yes, please pass onto Victor your write-up on me.  Victor is quite
the guy.  It was a real pleasure meeting him on our vacation to Ireland this
past May.  He sure has accomplished a lot. The Chevy Pick-Up Truck is
getting recognized because of his dedication to it, and your article.

Thank you,

Dennis Kunick

Kathy ~

Thank you for your interview with Dave Sinclair.  What a unique individual this believer in American Autos is.
His commercials are so refreshing.  My note to him follows -

My best to Mike. Hope you are both enjoying retirement.

Dave ~

I viewed all your commercials both GM as well as  Ford, and I think your candid approach is quite refreshing.  Thank you from this GM retiree for what you are doing for not only GM but for ALL American cars in general.

HI  JACK,

HERE IS AN OLDER PIC FROM THE
MID 70'S I BELIEVE AND I HAVE ONE MORE SET I WILL SEND.
IT WON'T BE NECESSARY FOR YOU TO ADD MORE UNLESS YOU HAVE
ANOTHER SPOT YOU WANT THEM FOR.. KATHY DID A WONDERFUL JOB
BUT I DON'T THINK I DESERVE THAT
MUCH ATTENTION.
  THANKS,  VAN

Jack,
Thank you.  I have been "down" state Michigan for the past couple of weeks with family problems and have not been "on line" in over 10 days.  Hoping to get back to "my" place in another 7-10 days and back to the articles...Kathy did a great job on the article and have not even had a moment to thank her.  Will get back to both of you ASAP.  Thanks again...

Kathy & Jack:

The ???? guy is Bill Brown. GREAT REWRITE OF THIS OLD FARTS HAPPY DAYS.
STILL MISS DOING WHAT WE ALL DID.

Kathy:

Great rewrite of my recap of fun times. Miss you and all the rest of "the gang".

Jack:

Thanks for the copy of my interview.  I hate these things but Kathy did a tasteful and professional job.

Kathy, the write-up is fine and, as far as I am concerned, ready to go to print.

Thank you for your great help.  Whenever you and Mike get a chance to come south to the great state of Texas, please be sure to contact me.

Kathy,

This looks good to me.  You made this interview painless.  Thanks for your help.

Say hello to Mike.

Kathy -
I sure appreciate all your help with this thing.
I agree with you -- I think it's good to go --
I'll tell Jack that you deserve a big raise (HA)
Tell Mike HI for me and also till him that Bob
just bought a new airplane.

I guess I need to send Jack some photos now?

Again THANKS for your help and patience with me.

Jack --

I have just given Kathy the OK to send you
the "interview", (you are lucky to have her on
your team) -- I know that I now need to send
you a photo and a few snapshots. Is there
anything else you need?

Kathy,

Thanks for your help, you always were a professional and still are.

Hi to Mike.

Regards

Jack & Kathy,

Thanks for your good work!  I just saw the interview on the Web Site this morning.

Kathy,

You did a great job taking my ramblings and creating something that reads and flows very well.  I appreciate all the time you spent writing and editing the document.

Kathy and Jack,

I just read the February interview and thought you both did a great job with a rambling dissertation. Thanks for your interest and help.

Best regards.
